Photomontages
Photomontages are used within Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs) to illustrate the likely appearance of a proposed development within its surrounding landscape and visual context.
They combine existing site photography with a representation of the proposed development to provide an indication of how it may appear from selected viewpoints. Photomontages can show elements such as buildings, infrastructure, landscape proposals, vegetation and other relevant features.
Viewpoints are typically selected to represent locations where the development may be visible, including public rights of way, roads, residential areas, heritage assets and other sensitive receptors.
Photomontages provide a visual aid to accompany the written assessment, helping to communicate the scale, form, location and potential visual effects of a proposed development as part of the planning process.
